Project Description

Project Name: Emanuel School
Client: Emanuel School
Project Type: Commercial

Project Information

Emanuel School, which originally opened its doors in Woollahra in 1983, is now located in Randwick on a partially heritage listed campus. The school features after school care facilities for younger students, a performing arts centre and a multi-purpose hall amongst other typical school facilities.

Emanuel School are providing students with a new design and technology (D&T) building to meet the advancement of educational demand in hospitality. The building will comprise commercial grade kitchen facilities, museum space and several classrooms.

The new multi-storey structure will occupy the footprint of an aging library building and seeks to amalgamate the new materials in a sympathetic manner in response to the adjacent historic buildings. This new facility will revitalise this area of the campus.

The planning process is complex with the site being listed as an item of environmental heritage within the Randwick Local Environmental Plan. The surrounding site is also listed on the NSW State Heritage Register.
